Macon – Mary Grace Hedges, 92, of Macon passed away in her residence at 6:15 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2011.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2011 in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon with Rev. Kenneth Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. till service time on Friday. Burial will be in South Macon Township Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Mrs. Hedges was born August 11, 1918 in Patoka, IL the daughter of Elvin Ray and Icephina Elizabeth (Grupp) Beckett. She was a homemaker. She married Kenneth Hedges on February 23, 1938. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1986. She was a member of the Macon United Methodist Church, the friendship circle and the Gabby Gals. She was instrumental in serving senior dinners for over 25 years at the Macon Presbyterian Church.
Surviving is her son: Russell Hedges and his wife Marsha of Macon; sons-in-law: Tom Pritts and his wife Sandy of Decatur and Dwaine Dunn and his wife Bert of Decatur; brothers: Dale Beckett of Seal Beach, CA and George Beckett of Springfield, IL; grandchildren: Diane Johnston and her husband Randy of St. Charles, MO, Todd Pritts and his wife Kim of Cedar Rapids, IA, Steve Hedges and his wife Tonya of Springfield, IL, Scott Hedges and his wife Melissa of Mt. Zion, IL, Kori Morales and her husband Carl of Camdenton, MO, Scott Pritts and his wife Salli of Decatur, Stephanie Tomlinson of Tampa, FL, Stacey Randol of Nashville, TN, Kari Dunn Greenwell and Kim Dunn Clower; fourteen great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughters: Phyllis Pritts and Patricia Dunn; two brothers and her sister.
The family would like to express their special thanks to Pastor Ken and his wife Renae and the community of Macon for all their care and compassion. And also to Melissa for all her help during her illness.

Russell and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have known your mom since Phyllis and I were in 1st grade. She was always so kind.
I became reacquainted with her when mom became her neighbor. They really enjoyed each other.
These last few years were difficult for her I know. She did not give up until she was forced to. Now she can truly rest
